I received my B.A. in Nursing from St. Olaf College in 2001, and an M.S. in Nurse Anesthesia from St. Mary's University of MN in 2009. I worked at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee from 2009-2011, and have been with ABC from 2011 to the present. ABC gives me the opportunity to work with a group of CRNAs who work hard and function well as a team. Currently I serve on ABC's Board of Directors. Outside work I enjoy cooking, traveling and being outdoors with my family.

I have served as the "Site Lead" for ABC at Mercy Hospital since 2011
In this time we have helped Mercy expand Anesthesia services from 15 operating rooms plus 2 OB suites to 17 operating rooms, 2 OB suites and a GI specific suite. This expansion has allowed specialities such as endoscopic ultrasounds, endoscopic bronchoscopies, ERCP's, colonoscopies & EGD's requiring anesthesia. We also have added the ability to perform endovascular abdominal aortic aneursym repairs & TransAortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) which were not as readily available. Mercy continues to have robust general, ortho, neuro, urology, vascular, ophthalmology, gynecologic, ENT, cardio-thoracic, podiatry and plastic services available. Mercy hospital started their robotic program in 2010 specifically focusing on urology. Since then we have expanded our robotic program to include gynecologic, cardio-thoracic, cardiovascular and gynecologic oncology in addition to urology. Further, we have added a second robot to accommodate the demand as we have the greatest use of the Di Vinci robot in the Twin City Metro area. We are presently involved in helping Mercy grow it's already busy OB department with the construction of a new "Mother/Baby" wing which should provide another 2 - 3 operating rooms specifically for C-sections. In the Spring of 2014 Mercy opened their Mercy Same Day Surgery Center which has 3 functional operating rooms with the ability to expand to 6 operating rooms as demand increases. Mercy is also a level 2 trauma center.
ABC has an excellent working relationship with the operating room staff, surgeons & anesthesiologists.

Graduated from Minneapolis School of Anesthesia in 1994 and has worked at High Pointe since 2012.
Mentor for anesthesia students for both Minneapolis School of Anesthesia and Veterans Administration Hospital / University of Minnesota.
Rod has taken multiple mission trips including ones to Hogar Clinica, San Juan de Dios, in Lima, Peru, providing anesthesia to children undergoing cleft lip and cleft palate surgery.
Alumni President for Minneapolis School of Anesthesia since 2001.
Member of the College of Nursing National Honor Society Sigma Theta Tau.
Hobbies include gardening, music and traveling.
